DIY Sequin Heart Brooch

I wanted to make a little something to send to some of my friends this Valentine's Day to let them know I love them too! These sequin heart brooches are super simple to make and you can make a few quite quickly if you get a mini production line going!

You Will Need:

Felt
Craft Glue
Scissors
Pen
Sequins
Brooch Pin
Needle and Thread (optional)

Start be cutting out two hearts, it's best to use a template to get them even every time!

Starting at the outer edge glue a little section on sequins at a time and work your way inwards.

Keep Going ......

Glue your brooch back to the second heart (I also sewed the back on to make it a bit more secure but you don't need to do this). Then glue the two hearts together...

And there you have your sparkly sequin heart brooch! You could also use a hair clip back instead if you have a friend who likes to add some sparkle to her hairstyle, or make a matching pair and turn them into shoe clips! I have made a few spare and I plan on adding one to my shopping bag!

Black & Gold

I've noticed there has been a lot of black & gold appearing around my room recently. It's one of my favourite colour combinations especially when you throw in a little bit of pink & white too.

Spotted Sequins

Sequins are appropriate for almost any occasion in my eyes, but especially for a trip to the theatre to see Hairspray! Can we also talk about the Minnie trousers from J Crew. I purchased them after a recommendation and they are so comfy, I mean I could fall asleep in these things. I have my eyes on a fun coloured pair now too!

DIY Sequin Hanger

I've been eyeing these sequin hangers on Etsy for a while and they've been popping up all over my Instagram feed! I decided they couldn't be too hard to make and when Rosa posted her DIY version, I thought right let's give this a go.

You will need:

A wooden hanger
Sequins (I used almost 15m)
Scissors
Glue/Double sided tape

The only thing I had to pay for was the sequins which cost me £2.28. So this is a really cheap DIY project.

I started wrapping the bottom piece first. I cut the sequins into shorter lengths because I found it easier to wrap them around. I fixed the sequins with hot glue in a few places as I was wrapping.

Keep wrapping! I also used some PVA glue to hold the sequins in some places. I ended up using double sided tape on the corners and I wish I had used double sided tape for the whole thing, it would have been much easier!

And there you have one sparkly sequin hanger to display your favourite pieces on!

Stripes, sequins, pink and some gold what more could I want in outfit! I love these blouses from Forever 21 (blue version worn here). They are so easy to throw on with just about anything, I'm waiting for it to warm up so I can pair them with shorts!

A Few Gold Sequins

If you missed out on the Zara sequin clutch then you need to head down to Primark pronto!

They have a similar clutch available for just £4 and it comes in gold and dark grey. I'm now thinking I should have picked one up in both colours!
