First Peonies of 2018

Happy Wednesday. I just thought I would brighten up today for you all with some snaps of these beautiful peonies. I mean I can't stop staring at them and they smell divine too! You all understand why I keep staring at them right?!
These are my first peonies of 2018 and they came from my best friend's mum's garden, she has the best peony plant! I look forward to having some of these in my home every year because I haven't found any that smell as good as these.
When we moved into our house last summer we planted six of our own peony plants and 5 of them currently have tiny little buds on them, I have everything crossed that at least one will bloom.

Room Refresh

Bike Print - Anna With Love Shop // Je t'aime Print - SS Print Shop

I always like to start re-organising things around my room every time a new year or season rolls around and adding in some new little details, but without spending too much money.
One of my favourite things is having fresh flowers beside my bed, luckily a sweet friend of mine dropped round last week with some blooms in hand! Tulips always make me think Spring is on the way.

Candles are another thing I love to have around and a new scent is always a little treat. My sister gifted me this Jo Malone one for Christmas. Their candles smell amazing but if you are on more of a budget I love picking up some candles from T.K Maxx.

Jo Malone has also become my favourite place to pick up cologne and I have a little growing collection (I normally like to pick one up at the airport and save a few dollars) and I decided to make a little display of them in my room so I feel like I'm 'shopping' my perfumes every day!
I displayed them on a little marble tray I picked up from H&M Home, and as my friend's know me so well, one of them got me the cutest personalised marble coaster for Christmas!

I have a growing collection of prints too and I love changing up my shelf above my bed and also my gallery wall. My favourite places to pick up prints are the Anna with Love Shop, SS Print Shop and Etsy, especially H Nichols Illustration

I am so happy that last weekend we had some perfect autumnal weather. I finally pulled out my blanket scarves and got to wear my new over the knee suede boots! I am hoping this weekend is the same and I can snuggle up in some more cozy knits and work on my latest knitting project!

Autumn Decor Updates

It's hard to say whether I prefer decorating for Autumn or Christmas, I love all the warm colours of Fall. I haven't finished decorating completely yet but I've slowly been adding a few new pieces around my home to make it feel warm and cozy for the season.

Cute Prints from Lily & Val - Hot Apple Cider // Pumpkin Pie. My sister gave me these as a birthday gift and they make the perfect addition to any kitchen for some Fall inspired baking!

Farmer's Market Flowers.

I love these Bath & Body Works Mini Candles that my sweet pen pal sent me last year, we can't get them here in the UK so I am savouring them and haven't burnt them! I also found another one of these gold frames in T.K. Maxx and framed my favourite pictured from a recent Apple Picking trip. The pine cones are ones we have picked up on our adventures and I love having them lying around the house this time of year.

Another T.K. Max Find that I couldn't leave behind. this little rose gold squirrel is such a cutie!

We can't get Bath & Body Works candles here in the UK but I did find some really similar ones in B&M Stores and they retail for only £2.99. I thought they probably won't smell too strong when being burnt, but surprisingly they actually fill them room with a warming aroma. They also had some pumpkin ones in the Halloween section which I picked up too.

Yet another T.K. Max find, it is my favourite place to pick up Fall decor, they always have the prettiest pumpkins!

Another Lily & Val Print  because who doesn't love everything pumpkin spiced at this time of year. I like to think the girl in this print from H Nichols Illustration has just stopped by Starbucks and picked up a Pumpkin Spice Latte, which I still need to do.

What are some of your favourite ways to decorate around the home for Autumn?

This weekend I am off to London again for a Hen Weekend, I'm actually looking forward to having a weekend soon where I can just sleep in and relax, but I know that this weekend is going to be packed full of celebrations and fun! Home Grown Peonies

Peonies Print via SS Print Shop

Two years ago I planted three baby peony plants in my garden, they are my favourite bloom and I decided I wanted some of my very own to brighten up the garden! I was told it might be quite a few years before my plants would flower. Last year I got super excited when one tiny little bud appeared on one of the plants, I knew it wouldn't hatch but I thought it was a good sign! That same plant was the first one to start growing when Spring rolled around this year.
When I came back from Sorrento that plant hadn't grown much more but the one that had barely grown last year had shot up from nowhere and there were signs of buds!!!!
I had been on Peony watch all month and was hoping that some blooms might have opened up for my friend's wedding, unfortunately the weather hadn't been too brilliant but more and more buds were appearing. Fast forward to the second week of June and there it was, my very first peony from my own garden! I wanted to leave them on the bush but we were having so much rain and the little plant couldn't hold the weight of the open blooms and they were starting to snap the stalks so I rescued the first two blooms and placed them next to my bed.
Over the next few days more and more blooms started to open up and I bought them all indoors safe from the English Summer haha!
They smell divine and my room has been fragranced with their sweet smell for days now! In total my plant grew 20 buds this year and 19 of them opened up, even the little ones I didn't expect too, maybe the last baby will open too, I'll have to wait and see.
I have my finger's crossed next summer my pink ones might bloom too (the bright pink one in this post is from my mum's work garden).
Happy Summer!
