Stacey's Smiles

Is it really May?? I'm finding it so hard to believe we're starting the fifth month of this year! I am so excited for the next week though! I have two days of work to get through and then I have a wedding reception to go too, I'm spending a few days in London with my sister and then I'm off to Paris with my best friend Susie! I'm counting down the minutes!

Stacey's Smiles

I have been counting down the days at this work this week and I finally only have tomorrow left to work before I can enjoy a few days off! I don't have too many plans but I do have a whole list of things I want to bake including some Creme Egg brownies! Happy Weekend Everyone!

DIY Project: A Tiny Table

I had been after a little table for my room where I could display some of my current favourite things. My mum found this dark wood one for just £3 at a sale and it was perfect for my first furniture painting project.

I was originally going to paint it pale green but decided to use some paint we already had!

After some sanding and a coat of primer, it took 3 coats on paint to cover the table and then I just glued some paper I found to the top with craft glue and sealed it with four coats of varnish!

In all this table cost me less than £10 and I just adore the way it turned out, I am totally inspired to painting something bigger next time.

Has anyone else painted any old pieces of furniture they've found? I'd love to see some other pieces for inspiration! I am a big fan of Holly's Blog, In The Fun Lane, for ideas, she has a dream home!

Stacey's Smiles

It's March, and that means that my shopping ban is over! I am rather surprised with myself really, no new clothes, shoes, or accessorises have been added to my collection in the past month! I did it and now I think I deserve a reward so I will be doing some pay day shopping this weekend. I am eyeing this bag for Spring at Topshop for starters. Who knows maybe I'll do another ban later in the year. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Shopping Ban Update

Well I only have 7 days left to go on my shopping ban and it has been a lot easier than I thought it would be! I was almost tempted by the 40% and free shipping at J Crew on Monday but I resisted! I have been deleting all the offer emails as soon as they arrive in my box without opening them.

I do have a wish list for March and these are a few of things I've been eyeing.

I haven't shopped at Baublebar yet but they have the most amazing selection of jewellery for affordable prices. These earrings I saw over at Nicole's Guide To Style would be perfect for spring.

As much as I love the Current/Elliott Jeans  I want to find them on some sort of sale so until I do, I might try these instead.

And I will just carry on dreaming about this one.

Current Uniform

I seem to be grabbing a chunky knit sweater, boots and a coat all the time at the moment! Please can it start to warm up already! I had to add a bit of sparkle with my EllandEmm Audrey necklace because every weekend needs something shining in it!

There is still plenty of time left to enter my giveaway here too!

Stacey's Smiles

My first smiles post of 2013! This morning when I woke I peeped out of my curtains to see all the beautiful snow that has fallen over night! I always think snow makes everything seem even more beautiful and although it has been freezing here all week and people can't stop complaining about the white stuff I love it!
I finally caved and got a DSLR camera last weekend! I have been debating getting one for a while now and my indecisive self wasn't even 100% sure I was going to purchase it when I went to the store! But I came home with the Canon 600D and I am so excited to start playing around with it! If anyone has any good tips please share in the comments! Have a great weekend everyone!
