She Did It!

I'm currently thinking of the scene in legally Blonde where Elle Woods is giving her speech at graduation and squeals 'We Did It'.

For the past few years my sister has been studying towards her degree in Physiotherapy and last week we got to celebrate all her hard work and achievements with her at her Graduation. In the past three years I have made many visits to her on campus, some just to say hello and spend time with her, other times for a place to stay for things like shopping trips, musicals and concerts. The time has flown by and I can't believe her time at University has come to an end. Her Graduation was the perfect way to end this chapter of her life and the day was full of celebrations and unforgettable moments(I had to try the cap and gown on, it's probably the only chance I  will get to wear them). I am such a proud big sister, she has worked so hard to get to this point and I wish her all the luck for her future and I can't wait to see her career blossom and grow.

Cute Camera Bags

Ever since I purchased my Canon DSLR I have been on the hunt for a bag to carry it in! I didn't want to go for a boring camera bag they had at the store so I reached out to some ladies on twitter and asked them what they used!

I found that some girls use camera bags, while others just use a regular handbag!

Rosa from Rosa Loves DC uses this gorges Kate Spade,

And Amelia from Duckling to Swan told me she carries hers in the bottom of her bag but linked me to this gorgeous Kipling bag (that is now sold out *sobs*).

I've also seen some great DIY ideas like this one for keeping you camera safe! Has anyone tried this idea?

What do you all use to carry your DSLR cameras around safely in? I'm hopefully off to Paris later this year and want to be able to carry my camera around in style!

A New Toy

As a child I always remember having so many new toys to play with on Christmas Day. As I got older it became things like a new mp3 player or a games console and now the things I have to 'play' with are more likely to have me making a mess in the kitchen! Last year I was generously gifted my laptop by my Dad and this year he gave me some money to decide what to do with! After going back and forth (do I really need an iPad or a pair of shoes) I settled on purchasing a DSLR camera! Anyone who knows me will know that I am so indecisive, even over the smallest decision. So of course I hummed and hawed over which camera to go for and whether I would use it enough, (or even learn to use it all all). After deciding it would be the Canon 600D (T3i) I headed to the store, where I still panicked whether I was making the right choice (I went back in there 4 times that day), I finally came home with my new toy for grown ups and a very stressed out mum!

I have no idea how to really use my  new camera yet so if anyone has any good books/videos/tutorials they can share with me I would very much appreciate! I did start to have a play around the other day and snapped a quick couple of pictures around my room!

Stacey's Smiles

My first smiles post of 2013! This morning when I woke I peeped out of my curtains to see all the beautiful snow that has fallen over night! I always think snow makes everything seem even more beautiful and although it has been freezing here all week and people can't stop complaining about the white stuff I love it!
I finally caved and got a DSLR camera last weekend! I have been debating getting one for a while now and my indecisive self wasn't even 100% sure I was going to purchase it when I went to the store! But I came home with the Canon 600D and I am so excited to start playing around with it! If anyone has any good tips please share in the comments! Have a great weekend everyone!
