Kate Somerville Blemish Banisher Kit Review

During one of Sephora's Friends & Family Sales I decided to pick up the Kate Somerville Blemish Banister Kit. I have used the  original ExfoliKate in the past and would buy it again in a heartbeat. These travel size kits are a great way to try a new range of products, especially when the full size ones have bigger price tags. As always the moisturiser in these kits is the first thing to be used up and the cleanser lasted around three months.

Kate Somerville Oil Free Moisturizer - This moisturiser was super lightweight and felt beautiful on my skin and worked well with my make up. However I didn't find that it kept my skin hydrated all day, I started using this when the weather was still pretty cold and harsh and with walking to and from work each day it just wasn't enough hydration for my skin. I think it would work better for me in the warmer months, but with the price tag I don't think I would repurchase this.

Kate Somerville Detox Daily Cleanser - I really liked this cleanser, it had a nice scent to it and although it could be a little drying I found it fine to use twice a day. It left my skin feeling fresh and soft and I had a lot less breakouts whilst I was using this.

Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Acne - These little tubes go along way. I still have plenty of this left and I normally use it twice a week if I remember. This treatment feels slightly kinder to my skin than the original ExfoliKate, but both leave my skin feeler extra smooth and looking clearer instantly and if I had any breakouts on the way this definitely helps to stop it in tracks. It's a bit a splurge product with the price tag but I would buy this again during a sale, as for the original or the acne version, I would probably go for the original for my skin personally.

Kate Somerville EradiKate Acne Treatment - This overnight treatment is very similar to the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion which I have used in the past but is lightly more expensive  ($17 vs $24).  They both work in the same way and both help dry up nasty spots within a couple of days. I don't find the smell that nasty but I know some people will find it overpowering. I found the EradiKate seemed to work slightly quicker for me but was also slightly more drying on my skin. For me it is a coin toss on which one I would repurchase but I would keep bottle of either in my bathroom at all times because they really do help clear up breakouts super quickly.

Kate Somerville's products aren't in my normal price range but I would love to try more products from her line because I do think that they actually work and I would happily spend a little extra on those treatment products as I know they work for my skin now.

Latest In Beauty Estee Lauder Discovery Box Review

I still haven't signed up to one of those monthly sample boxes yet because I know what I'm like, I will forget to cancel it and then be over run with samples I won't use. That is why I love the one off boxes they do at latestinbeauty.com (I last reviewed one here). You don't have to sign up and pay each month, you just purchase a box when you like and you can see what is in the box before you buy it! I always forget to check the site and see what new boxes they have and I'm sure I've missed out on plenty of good stuff but last week I remembered to have a look and saw this Estee Lauder Discovery box. It's just £14.95 including p&p and you get six samples inside.

Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator 7ml - value £10.96

This is the product I'm most excited to try, the Idealist Skin Illuminator

So you get £35.05 worth of products for just £14.95  which I think is a great bargain and you also get a card inside inviting you to any Estee Lauder counter for a skin and make up consolation and a 10 day sample of their foundation! I haven't tried the products yet so I won't personally recommend them just yet but I've heard great things about Estee Lauder products and a fun fact the first 'expensive' lip product I ever purchased was from Estee Lauder.

Revlon Lip Butters Review

I'm sure by now you've all heard about the Revlon Lip Butters that everybody has gone crazy for! I've been waiting and waiting for the Boots and Superdrug near me to get some stock and finally last weekend they did! Superdrug had the whole collection while Boots only had six of the colours to pick from! As they were 3 for 2 in Boots, I decided to pick from the colours they had available!

The three colours that I went for were Strawberry Shortcake, Peach Parfait & Sweet Tart.

I love everything about these Lip Butters from the cute quilted packaging with the see through top (something I love about Revlon Lipsticks) to the moisturising butter formula! I know some people seem to think the colour doesn't last too long but I think they lasted well for me! I love all 3 colours I choose! Strawberry Shortcake is the palest of the colours I have and is great for every day, I love to always have a soft pink with me and this will be the Lip Butter I'll reach for if I can't choose! Peach Parfait seems to be the most popular colour and I can understand why! It's a great peachy pink that would suit most people and it has that added bit of shimmer. Sweet Tart is the darkest of the 3 of have but not that dark in the whole collection of Lip Butters (I loved Berry Smoothie for a darker colour). I like Sweet Tart because it gave a bit more colour than Strawberry Shortcake for when I want a little more pop. I found that my lips stayed soft while I had these on and at the end of the day my lips didn't feel so dry and tight. Overall I love them and I'd happily buy more, I really want to try Raspberry Pie next.
