I Did (Or Tried To Do) Something Amazing Today

At the beginning of 2012 one of my 'resolutions' was to donate blood. I finally got around to going today. My dad came with me as I was a being a bit of a scaredy cat. Well after the finger prick and checking everything was ok, they struggled to find a good vein. Eventually they did but my arm wasn't ready to give up a full pint of blood. I was disappointed that I didn't get to make a full donation but I will go again after the 16 weeks you have to wait, and see if my body is more willing to give up the blood next time. I wanted to take one of the 'I Gave Blood Today' stickers but didn't feel I deserved one, so I'm hoping that next time I feel I deserve one! I'm also excited to find out my blood group as I have no idea what it is!

As my body didn't want to give up much blood, I'd love for all of my readers to go and donate blood if you don't already and let me know how you get on! It's an amazing thing to do and you could help save someones life!

  2. Good job. I've been donating blood throughout the last 10 years and still find it scary, that initial jab into your arm. But as you said, I always feel like I've done a good deed. Thanks for the reminder, I'll try to go Thursday.
