2017 Goals

Cushions - Marks & Spencer // Ikea // T.K Maxx // Made by Me
Planner - T.K. Maxx

A New Year is the perfect time to set some new goals for yourself for the year ahead. This year I wasn't sure what resolutions I should make but I decided on a few simple ones that I can hopefully stick to, none of them are hugely life changing but sometimes it's the small things that matter the most.

Spread Joy
It's not hard to spread a little joy to the people around you on a daily basis, a smile, a hello is all it can take. We all know that life is short and can end far sooner than we expected, it's important for me to tell the people I love that I love them as often as I can. Making time to call someone you haven't spoken to in a while but know you should have, sending a little hand written card or a little package can easily brighten someones day.
This year I plan on sending something to someone I love at least once a month. It doesn't have to be a lot, a cute card, or maybe a small care package for someone I know who is having a rough week. And for friend's that live closer  maybe I'll take round a fresh batch of cookies.

Finishing What I Started
I have a bad habit of starting projects and not finishing them. I often see ideas on Pinterest and think I could make that. I go and buy all the things I need to make it and then don't get round to making them, well sometimes I do but it can be months/years (yes years) later. I have a list of projects I already have all the materials for that I am going to get working on this year and I plan on finishing them all!

Less is More
Every year I always go through my closet and have a good purge of things that I no longer need or don't wear. I think I've made good progress with this over the past few years and this year I want to continuing de-cluttering not just my closet but everything! Before I make any purchase this year I will be asking my self, do I NEED this? Do I have a use for this? Do I have a place in my home that I can put it? I mean did I really need to buy 4 new Christmas spatulas last year? No is the answer to that but anyone that knows me will know I probably go through using two or three in the process of baking a cake, I am a messier baker, so I will just have to use my Christmas spatulas all year round haha!

Fear Less
I worry about so many small things and most of the time they are things I can even control, or things that don't really matter. Change is something I fear, but I know that I have to face it this year. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason, even if we don't know what that reason is for right now, one day it will all come clear. So for now I just have to trust that things will work out exactly how they are meant to be.

"Don't be afraid of your fears.
They're not there to scare you.
They're there to let you know that something is worth it."

Have you set yourself any goals for 2017? I'd love to hear them all!

2016

As we head into the last day of 2016, I thought I would share some of my favourite moments from the  blog and life this year. 2016 has been a year full of ups and downs and it hasn't quite finished in the way I would have liked it to, but I am taking away some memories I will treasure forever.

I managed to blog more this year than in 2015 but still not as much as I had hoped too. I did get the opportunity to collaborate with some amazing brands this year on the blog, including SheIn, Talking Tables, Romwe, Uncommon Goods, StyleWe, Tiny Prints and Victoria Emerson

On a more personal level I had a jammed packed year, I got to watch a few of my close friends tie the knot, we got to celebrate on their Hen Weekend's before and there are now some babies on the way too! I also got to travel to Sorrento (I just realised that I never wrote a post on that) with Sean, watched my first peonies bloom in my garden, attended Wimbledon for the first time with my sister and the highlight of my year, getting to be bridesmaid for my best friend!

As for what 2017 will hold? Well I know that it is going to be a year full of changes and I am going into the New Year not knowing what will happen and full of uncertainty. But I am sure that what ever does happen, good or bad it will all be part of a bigger plan and I will come out of it stronger.

I can share the two things I do have planned that I am counting down the days until. Afternoon Tea at the Ritz in London with my best friend (it was my thank you gift for being a bridesmaid) and we are also taking a trip to Athens in February with our partners, which I cannot wait for!

I am not sure what 2017 holds for the blog either. My little sister is moving and she takes all of my outfit pictures for me, so I will have to figure out a new plan for that. I'm hoping that I'll be able to blog at least as much as I have done this year and maybe even more if I can better manage my time. Hopefully I'll be able to work with some more wonderful brands and continue on some current partnerships.

Thank You to Everyone who has stopped by my blog, any of my social media accounts and liked a post or left a sweet comment! The friendships I have made through blogging are still without a doubt my favourite thing to have come from the blogger world!

Wishing you and all your families a very happy, healthy and adventurous 2017!

XOXO
Stacey

2014

As 2014 draws to a close today I wanted to look back at some of my favourite blog posts from this year. I know that it has been rather quiet on the blog for the past few months but the end of this year just seemed to slip past in a blink. I don't think any year has ever worked out the way I had planned but every year does bring it's own memories, this years highlights for me were travelling to Crete in the summer and then to Prague just a few weeks ago along with meeting up with my blogger friends Holly & Pam whilst they were travelling in London. It's so surreal finally meeting these ladies who I have known for what seems like forever. I also got to work with some fabulous brands on the blog like Kohl's & Elizabeth & Clarke and helped to promote my friend Roxy's Macarons & Peonies Etsy Shop. Peony Week produced some of my favourite posts for this year and I also celebrated my 1000th Blog Post. I got to write a feature for Best Friends for Frosting this summer too which was so much fun! I put my new sewing skills to good use making a whole bunch of Christmas Stockings for friends and family. I can't wait to see what 2015 has in store. Happy New Year's Eve!
